Why we provide all IP address data on every plan

Lite? Plus? Enterprise? Pro Max? Not with IPLocate. One API, one data tier, all of our high-quality data.

May 30, 2025

Some IP geolocation data providers offer different pricing plans with different data.

This is their business decision, but it’s not how we do things at IPLocate.

We believe in simplicity and empowering developers to build great products. That’s why we provide all of our comprehensive IP address data on all plans.

This might sound straightforward, but it's a deliberate choice that sets us apart and, more importantly, serves our users better.

At IPLocate, our free tier gives you 1,000 requests per day with full access to everything: country, city, ASN details, and privacy detection. Our paid plans, starting at $25 per month, work the same way. You get all the data, no matter what plan you pick.

All data, all pricing plans

On any plan, including our free tier, here’s what you get:

  • IP address geolocation for precise content personalization and analytics, including country, region, city, latitude, longitude, postal code
  • Locale and commerce information: time zone, currency code, calling code, EU indicator
  • ASN information, including ASN, ASN name, and ASN type
  • Company information, including company name, company type, and company domain
  • Comprehensive privacy and threat detection, for security and fraud prevention — proxy detection, VPN detection, Tor detection, and hosting provider detection
  • Plus, we’re always adding more. Let us know if there’s data you want that we don’t have yet.

Most importantly: All of this with one, easy-to-use API (check out our docs), and quick-start libraries for popular languages.

Why we don’t believe in data-limited pricing plans

Simple: because you don't know what you're getting.

With a data-limited plan, you don't know if the data is accurate, or if you're getting the right data for your use case. You can only truly test data when you have access to all of it.

We’ve heard these stories before:

By the way, thank you for actually letting me TEST your data. I run an open-source cybersecurity tool and needed vpn and proxy detection. To be honest, I wanted to go with my last provider (we already used their free geo data), but they had no way to test any of their paywalled "premium" data. Well, made my decision easier. Thanks again

And this isn’t just one developer’s struggle — countless teams hit the same wall, signing up for a service only to see critical data like city-level geolocation or threat intelligence gated behind higher tiers.

This is annoying, and we get it. We know data accuracy matters, and we know budgets matter, especially for small teams or solo developers. So we aim to do better — for businesses and developers small and large.

How we do it

We build products for developers, by developers. To us, that means:

  • A straightforward API, with great docs, step-by-step guides, and quick-start libraries in multiple languages
  • Accurate, high-quality, up-to-date data, with a commitment to accuracy and explainability
  • A generous free tier, so you can truly test the data quality. (If your app is small, we're OK if it runs in production on our free tier forever!)
  • Fair pricing that scales with your needs, so you can choose the plan that's right for you.

And finally, we believe in real engineers writing real articles for our blog.

How it compares

Many competitors offer different plans with different pricing, different names, and different data — or, worst of all, the same data at different levels of accuracy. Here’s one example from a comparison we recently ran against a popular competitor:

We think 6 different named plans make it hard to figure out what you’re paying for, and your time is better spent coding than decoding. So with IPLocate, you get everything from the start. Just pay for the number of requests you need.

The importance of trust and clarity

When choosing a data provider, it's not just about the raw data. It's about trust in the data's accuracy and the clarity of the provider's communications. Developers need reliable information and numbers that hold up in production, not marketing fluff or questionable claims. (like, hypothetically, claiming their network spans more countries than are recognized globally.)

We believe in straightforward, accurate information, both in our API responses and in how we describe our services. (There are 195 countries, by the way.)

You can count on us for solid, honest data every time, thanks to our 4-step collection process:

  1. Collect: We gather data from diverse, trusted open data sources like RIRs, geofeeds, and our own active network intelligence gathering.
  2. Analyze: Our proprietary data pipeline processes terabytes of raw data, applying advanced network analysis to accurately attribute location and metadata.
  3. Validate: We cross-reference billions of data points, identifying and discarding inconsistencies. When something doesn't add up, we take a closer look.
  4. Update: This entire cycle runs continuously, allowing us to publish fresh, validated databases daily.

Built to stay accurate

The internet changes fast. IP address ranges shift, networks go dark, and new proxies pop up every day. At IPLocate, we keep pace, quietly and continuously, so you don’t have to think about it.

We’re incredibly excited about the data we're collecting and the future of IP address intelligence. Most of all, we’re excited to share it with you — all of it, on all of our pricing plans.

If you need an IP geolocation and threat data API built by a team of engineers, not salespeople, try our free tier — 1,000 requests per day with full data access, no credit card needed.

And if there’s data or a feature you want that we don’t have yet — tell us.
